In the absence of an alleged father, Paternity Test Nigeria partners DDC can provide other testing options in order to help prove a child’s relationship to his family..Grandparent or Sibling DNA test
Siblingship testing can be used to test the likelihood that two individual share one (half siblingship), both (full siblingship), or no parents.
We test the alleged father’s biological parents to determine the probability that they are the grandparents of the child..
Grandparent DNA testing (or grandparentage DNA testing) from Paternity Test Nigeria can help you answer nagging questions about your family relationships.
A grandparentage test can determine whether a child is biologically related to a set of grandparents. The test is often performed when a child’s alleged father is unavailable for paternity testing and the child’s grandparents have doubts about whether the child is truly related to them.
A grandparent DNA test is based on the fact that a child inherits half of his or her genetic profile from each biological parent. When one of a child’s parents is missing or deceased, we can look to the grandparents to determine if they contributed DNA to the child’s genetic profile (presumably through the missing or deceased alleged parent).
The required participants of a grandparentage test are the child and both grandparents on one side. Grandparent DNA testing is often initiated because of doubts about a missing or deceased alleged father’s paternity; therefore, most of these tests involve the participation of the alleged father’s biological parents. This is known as paternal grandparentage testing.
The child’s mother is encouraged to participate as well. When the mother submits a DNA sample, the laboratory can identify and eliminate her contribution to the child’s genetic profile. This, in turn, allows the lab to focus on whether the paternal grandparents contributed any DNA to the child’s genetic profile. If the child’s mother is unavailable for testing, we can still do a grandparentage test. We will need to perform extended testing to obtain conclusive results, but we will do this for no additional fee.
Please note that grandparentage testing can also be performed with an alleged mother’s biological parents. Known as a maternal grandparentage test, this type of test is performed when a child’s alleged mother is unavailable for maternity testing.
The results of a grandparent DNA test will reveal whether or not the alleged grandparents are the biological grandparents of the child. Because the alleged father (or, in maternal grandparentage cases, the alleged mother) is not tested, we cannot make any claims as to whether he (or she) is the biological parent of the child.
To determine a wide range of different biological relationships, PATERNITY TEST NIGERIA can offer you various tests, such as a test between siblings. Siblingship testing can help two individuals verify whether they are full or half siblings. This type of test is often performed when an alleged father is unavailable for paternity testing and alleged siblings want to know if they have one or both parents in common.
A siblingship test requires the participation of two alleged siblings. (Because of the complexity of the test, no more than two alleged siblings can be tested at the same time.)
If available, the children’s mother or mothers are strongly encouraged to participate as well. sa A siblingship study is a complex DNA test, and a mother’s participation can greatly help the process. When a mother contributes a DNA sample, the laboratory can eliminate her contribution to her child’s genetic profile and focus on the father’s contribution.
If the mother or mothers are unavailable for testing, we can still do a siblingship test. However, a motherless siblingship test requires extended testing and analysis, which may make the test more costly and slower to complete.
This test is performed when two alleged siblings believe they only share one biological parents (as in when two siblings do not have the same biological mother but would like to know if they have the same biological father).
This test is performed when two siblings share one biological parents and would like to know if they share the the other parents as well (as in when two siblings know they have the same biological mother and would like to know if they also have the same biological father).
The results of a siblingship DNA test will provide a Combined Siblingship Index that states the genetic odds in favour of—or against—a sibling relationship. Because of the test’s complexity, siblingship test results are not as definitive as those of other family relationship DNA tests, such as paternity and maternity tests.
Your sibling DNA test will be completed within 14 working days of our laboratory receiving all the necessary DNA samples.
